FRENCH ROASTED WALNUT OIL

Our handcrafted, French Roasted Walnut oil is produced using a 150-year-old recipe.  Slow roasted to perfection, expeller-pressed and lightly filtered.  Delicate yet rich, our French Roasted Walnut oil is perfect when paired with any of our fruity balsamic vinegars and drizzled over a spinach salad with strawberries, blueberries, toasted pine nuts, and feta cheese.  Also amazing as a finishing oil drizzled over fish (trout), pasta, poultry, lamb, duck, or oatmeal.

VINAIGRETTE PREPARATION

Homemade Salad Dressing: Combine 1 part French Roasted Walnut Oil with 1 part balsamic vinegar. Whisk together and serve. To emulsify dab in a small amount of dijon mustard or light mayo and continue whisking. Oil and balsamic will become creamy in appearance. Refrigerate remaining amount for up to 3 days.

MARINADE PREPARATION

Land-Based Proteins: Combine equal parts French Roasted Walnut oil with equal parts vinegar. We recommend preparing enough to cover the protein. Place in zip-lock bag and squeeze out air. Place in refrigerator for at least six hours. Water-Based Proteins: Coat the raw protein with walnut oil in the absence of the vinegar for approximately 30 minutes.  Removing the vinegar in this step prevents the acidity of the vinegar from “cooking” the delicate protein).  After cooking, drizzle a combination of vinegar and walnut oil onto the prepared protein.

HEAT APPLICATIONS

Applying heat to any oil or balsamic may slightly reduce the original flavor profile. To bring back any lost flavors prepare a small amount of fresh marinade and drizzle over the finished product.
