Balsamic Reduction (Balsamic Glaze)

Balsamic reduction is a simple, elegant glaze made by gently simmering balsamic vinegar until it becomes thick, glossy, and naturally sweet. This versatile condiment adds depth and brightness to everything from roasted vegetables and grilled meats to fresh fruit, cheeses, and desserts. Using a high-quality aged balsamic produces the richest flavor with no need for added sugar.

Instructions

  • Pour the balsamic vinegar into a small saucepan and place over medium heat.
  • Bring to a gentle simmer, then reduce heat to medium-low.

  • The glaze should be pourable when warm and thick when cooled.

Serving Suggestions

  • Drizzle over caprese salad, roasted vegetables, grilled chicken or steak, strawberries, vanilla ice cream, or aged cheeses.

Storage

  • Store in a sealed glass jar in the refrigerator for up to 1 month. Gently warm to loosen if needed.
