HARISSA OLIVE OIL
This delicious Harissa Olive Oil infused with 100% all natural flavors consisting of piri piri chili peppers, serrano peppers, red chili peppers, garlic, caraway, and coriander is a perfect match for any North African, Moroccan, and/or Middle Eastern dishes. Add a touch of spiciness to freshly made hummus, couscous, soups, lamb or poultry dishes. Pairs extremely well with our Sicilian Lemon and Mango White balsamic vinegars.
HARISSA OLIVE OIL & BALSAMIC COMBINATIONS

Hummus, Couscous, Soups….
Combine 2 parts Harissa Olive Oil with 1 part balsamic vinegar. Whisk together and serve. To emulsify dab in a small amount of dijon mustard or light mayo and continue whisking. Oil and balsamic will become creamy in appearance. Refrigerate remaining amount for up to 3 days.
Combine equal parts Harissa Olive Oil with equal parts balsamic vinegar. We recommend preparing just enough to cover the protein. Place in zip-lock bag and squeeze out air. Place in refrigerator for at least six hours.
Note: For Fish, Seafood (catches from the water) we recommend rubbing the Harissa Olive Oil into the raw protein in the absence of the balsamic vinegar for approximately 30 minutes. We recommend NOT using balsamic during the marinade step to prevent the acidic balsamic from breaking down the delicate protein. Instead, combine Harissa Olive Oil and balsamic and use to drizzle over the finished product.
Applying heat to any oil or balsamic may slightly reduce the original flavor profile. To bring back any lost flavors prepare a small amount of fresh marinade and drizzle over the finished product.
RECIPES USING HARISSA OLIVE OIL
Using our Harissa Olive Oil is super simple and if you can use a tablespoon, which we know you can, then you can master any application. We highly recommend viewing our TIPS & TRICKS page for helpful ideas. If you need further inspiration please check out our RECIPE PAGE. Please keep in mind; flavors are fairly flexible across recipes. For example, if a recipe calls for Harissa Olive Oil and you only have Chipotle Olive Oil we’d say go for it. Most importantly, experiment and have fun!
Spiced Up Hummus
- 4 tablespoons Sicilian Lemon White Balsamic (EVOO Marketplace)
- 3 cloves Garlic (More if desired)
- 1/2 tablespoon Sea Salt (EVOO Marketplace)
- 1/4 cup Tahini
- 15oz cans Chickpeas (Garbanzo Beans)
- 6 tablespoons Harissa Olive Oil (EVOO Marketplace)
- 1 teaspoon Paprika
|Combine Tahini and Sicilian Lemon Balsamic in food processor. Mix until whipped (~1-2 minutes). Scrape sides and proceed to step 2.|
|Add Harissa Olive Oil and Sea Salt to whipped Tahini/Sicilian Lemon Balsamic mixture. Process for ~1 minute. Scrape sides and proceed to step 3.|
|Drain and rinse Chickpeas. Add 1/2 can Chickpeas to mixture made in Step 2. Process 1-2 minutes. Scrape sides and add remaining Chickpeas. Process an additional 2-3 minutes. If hummus is too thick add a tablespoon of water at a time until desired consistency is reached! Sprinkle with Paprika. Enjoy!|
|Serve with warm Pita bread, Naan bread, carrots, cucumbers, tomatoes.|
